Summary: This place is a tiny, old apartment building with no grounds. The picture of nice gardens is the neighboring property, and I should have paid better attention to the photos. There is no “white sand beach” nearby, as we walked to the shore and it was just lava rock like everywhere else. The building is right on a main road and traffic noise is considerable. Be aware the locals like their extremely loud stereos! The bathroom has a window that doesn’t close, so we had to keep the bathroom door closed to reduce road noise. The door sticks, so opening it sounds like a gunshot (not ideal in the middle of the night). The bathroom screen doesn’t fit the window properly, though I imagine the fungus gnats just fly right through anyway (they were everywhere) The bathtub was dirty. The frogs outside the patio door will sound like they’re in your room- I didn’t mind them but my husband needed ear plugs. We appreciated the beach towels, the free parking and the proximity to several beach parks. The large fridge was great, but the coffee maker is too small for 2 people. The AC unit was quiet and efficient. We didn’t mind the bed, but the pillows were uncomfortable. I don’t understand the high ratings this place got at all. Was it serviceable? Yes. Was it 10/10? Not by a long shot.
